Aion Type-β II(アイオーンTYPE‐β II) is the successor unit to the Aion Type-β. It goes by the title of 'Supersonic Aerial Archaism'.
Background[]
The Aion series was developed by Doctor Novartis as successors to Pater-Mater. It was developed by Ouroboros' Thirteen Factories under supervision of the Sixth Anguis, Dr. F. Novartis. The original β unit was destroyed by Kevin Graham's Merkabah.
It retains almost all the abilities possessed by the original, including the ability to shift into a high-speed aerial form and produce homing lasers from its wing armaments. Unlike the original that relied on the powers of the new Sept-Terrion, the type II unit must charge up a reserve of mana. This unit is also capable of limited self-automation.
Trails of Cold Steel III[]
McBurn and Campanella make an appearance to new Class VII on the top of the Orchis Tower during the Imperial inspection, accompanied by the β unit. They do not use it in combat here but its ability to shift into flight mode is seen as the enforcers leave. Tracking it down becomes one of the main objectives.
Class VII are eventually able to find it at the top of the Stargazer's Tower where they engage in a fight and defeat it. Using the new jet booster system, Juna Crawford brings her Soldat and they defeat the β. McBurn uses his powerful flames to melt the defeated unit into scrap.
Trails of Cold Steel IV[]
Multiple copies of the Aion type IIs were revealed to have been made when the Glorious attacks the Pantagruel. Mariabell Crois deploys them in the battle. The β unit is seen emerging from the Glorious and immediately shifts into its high speed mode, slicing down the support shops of the Weissland Army and deploying its lasers. It retreats at the end of the battle and leaves with the Glorious.
In the final battle, the β unit is deployed outside the Tuatha De Danann as additional protection. This time it is easily brought down by the combined attack of Valimar and Ordine who destroy it with a team attack.
