These are concepts of the series that are aspects of the battle system, gameplay, or parts of the games relevant to the player but may not be perceived by the characters in the games. They may or may not have bearing on the plot. For example, the Battle Order Bonuses are mostly a gameplay mechanic. While Quartz are also a gameplay mechanic, they are integral to the lore of the series (as being placed in any orbment gives them various effects).
