Connor, a NPC met in Grancel
Connor is an inhabitant of the town of Grancel.
He's a man who who's usually hanging out in the Baral Coffee House. While pretty much the entire royal city is pumped up for the martial arts competition, Connor just likes to go through his daily routine as usual. While he's still interested in the results of the matches, he has no desire to brave the crowds in the arena himself while he could just stick to the peace and quiet of the coffee house and read about the matches in the newspaper.
Hanging out in the coffee house with a cup of coffee in one hand and a book or newspaper in the other is how Connor likes to spend every day and he just loves to read books, comb over articles or solve crossword puzzles. While Connor doesn't get out much, he nevertheless notices the changing atmosphere in the royal city as the birthday celebration approaches and has his doubts about the rumors about the Queen's illness and the Royal Guards' supposed betrayal, noting that the Queen herself has made no statement whatsoever and the Royal Guards may be old-fashioned, but they're also upstanding.
Connor also notes that the latest issues of the Liberl News, of which he's a very avid reader, have become very tame as of late, consisting almost entirely of fluff, which is against what he perceives as the paper's spirit and he voices his disappointment about the lack of interesting articles. What he doesn't know is that the reason for this is the Intelligence Division censoring the news just before the printing process. The Intelligence Division's coup eventually gets thwarted though and Connor is very excited to finally get some juicy news again as he holds the Liberl News' special coup edition in his hands.
