Ixs (イクス), also known as the Glinting Bullet (洸弾), is a character introduced in Trails through Daybreak II.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Ixs is a young man with a great resemblance to his twin sister, Jorda. He has silver-blue hair of medium length and pale indigo eyes. Part of his hair is longer and is tied with two bead like accessories. His hair is streaked with patches of violet, the inverse of his sister's hair color. He wears a baggy black coat with matching trousers and accents that match his hair color. He also carries several blue pouches on his person attached to white belts.
Ixs carries a large silver rifle with an ornate design and elongated barrel.
Personality[]
Ixs is very close to his sister. He has a taunting, live-in-the-moment-type personality that shows signs of insanity in his light tone. He is a cunning fighter who utilizes a magic silver long rifle as his weapon, and can change the trajectory of his magic bullets with his special abilities.[1]
Background[]
Ixs is Jorda's twin brother.
Ixs and Jorda are the twin children of Gerard Dantès. He is unaware of their existence, and only sired them due to the efforts of the D∴G cult who wanted to propagate his Eldarion Bloodline. They survived the collapse of the cult and were absorbed into the Gardens under the Garden of Thorns and its warden, Melchior. They received the codename 'ExE' referring to their lineage. As the members of the Gardens are not permitted names, Ixs took his name from the 'x' in their codename.
Following the death of Gerard, Ixs and Jorda became the successors of the Eldarion bloodline and therefore capable of wielding the holy demonic sword Apeiron which appeared before them.
After Swin Abel and Nadia Rayne kill Emperor, the Warden of Swords, Ixs and Jorda are sent to kill them, catching up with them at the Calvardian border. However, they eventually escape into Crossbell.
Following the deaths of the Gardens' overseers Olympia and Arioch during Almata's plans, Melchior, the last surviving warden ordered all of the Gardens' remnants to kill each other, with those left standing earning their freedom. Ixs and Jorda relished in the chance for this and slaughtered their former comrades for days until only they were left. Through this action, the Gardens was functionally dissolved as an organization.
Trails through Daybreak II[]
Ixs and Jorda take up employment with Ellroy Harwood.
Ixs first appears to Van Arkride's group in the guise of Luka, Robin Glasgow's son, requesting help to find his father, who holds the secrets to 'Almata's legacy' Van and the group locate Robin is is very remorseful for what he had done, but is shocked that Luka had asked them to help as as far as he knew, Luka was in another city. 'Luka' reveals himself as an imposter and uses his rifle to snipe and kill Robin before fleeing.
Ixs assists Ellroy with his plan on Nemeth Island, first luring the group to the cliffside where he stands with Ellroy and Jorda. The twins maintain a lookout vantage point on the island to look for targets and enforce Van and the party to cooperate with Elroy's tour of the island, lest he release deadly toxins that will wipe out everyone upon it. To help keep the tour from derailing, Ixs lends the party his assistance when the odds are against them, such as when Cao Lee and Gaolang of Heiyue and Rosalie of Zecht Arms team up against them. In the catacombs beneath Nemeth, where Paradise is located, the twins confront the party and reveal their background, including their history with the cult, the Gardens and their inheritance of Apeiron. They reveal a reactor weapon recreated by F. Novartis and either will trigger the weapon and blow up everyone on the island if one is taken out before the other. This will trigger a reset unless both twins are taken out simultaneously.
After the events on Nemeth, Lucrezia Isselee and Walter Kron are put in charge of minding the Twins whilst the other Anguis figure out what to do about Ellroy.
Ixs, Jorda and Ellroy confront the party one last time in the Octradium. They lose but Ellroy proclaims them worthy enough to jointly hold the position of Enforcer XX, and they withdraw.
Kai no Kiseki: Farewell, O Zemuria[]
Ixs is unable to get used to the freedom afforded to Ouroboros's enforcers, causing him to gradually drift apart from Jorda.
