Legendary Angler Estelle (爆釣伝説エステル) is the second Sun Door in Trails in the Sky the 3rd.

Background[]

Sun Door 2 can be found in the Grancel Fisherman's Guild. Estelle Bright is required to open this door, and completing the previous chapters are required for the next ones.

Synopsis[]

This door is the fated story of how Estelle, proclaimed, "a girl who loves to fish" clashed with the men and women dedicated to the sport, the Fisherman's Guild of Grancel.

Chapter 1[]

Deciding that she needs a break, Estelle visits the Valleria Lakeshore Kingfisher Inn to borrow some equipment and enjoy some fishing. She sees a great amount of success and fills buckets of fish, attracting the attention of fisherman Lloyd who was having the opposite luck and hadn't caught a single fish since setting out in a boat early that morning. Defeated, he set back for the inn but upon setting sights upon Estelle's fish, his competitive spirit was fired up and he challenged her to a five round anglers' duel. A fisherman's pride and honor are staked on the outcome, and upon the issue of the challenge, it can't be taken back and the duel must take place. Estelle defeats Lloyd and he gives her an Argem Lure as he acknowledges her skill and as per the rules. to refuse it would bring greater shame on the loser so Estelle accepts it.

Chapter 2[]

In the capital, it was another day when Estelle found herself wandering Grancel's Sewers to defeat a wanted monster for the Bracer Guild. Unexpectedly, she came across a noblewoman, Norche who was fishing. Estelle tried to escort her back to the city due to danger of monsters in the sewers, but Norche refused to budge from what she thought was a prime fishing spot. Neither budged due to their equally stubborn natures, until the silver lure fell from Estelle's pocket. Apparently one of the "three famous fishing tackles", Norche reveals she was planning on challenging Lloyd to obtain it first, but Estelle accomplished this first. She then challenges Estelle to a 10 round duel, which Estelle once again wins. Estelle, still wanting to escort Norche back to the city, finally convinces Norche who realises Estelle was truly more concerned for her safety, which may be why she lost. She bestows the Golden Rod on Estelle, another of the three legendary tackles. Norche cautions Estelle of a greater foe yet to come however- the Guild founder, Mister Fisher, who is the most competent fisher of the Guild. Warned that 'He will come for you' now that she has two of the tackles, Estelle remains as confused as ever.

Chapter 3[]

In Azelia bay, along the shore off Gull Seaside way, Estelle was wandering along the shore for no particular reason when a single small yacht approached, carrying a tuxedoed individual, and the fated duel was to begin. In possession of the title 'Avid Angler' and known as the 'Fishing Baron', he immediately dismissed the need for words after noticing the two tackles already in Estelle's keeping and commenced the duel. A fifteen round duel then began, with Estelle claiming the ultimate victory and mastery over the Guild. He gives her the Rainbow-Colored Fishing Line, uniting the three legendary tackles in the hands of one owner. he gives leadership of the Guild over to Estelle and takes the title of 'Honorary President' Estelle, not wanting the responsibilities forced on her, argues with the Fishing Baron in an hour of negotiations and finally manages to accept the position of honorary member as the 'burden of being leader' was too great for her in her own words. Her success spread legends about her skills worldwide however, and she was given the title 'The Supreme Fisher'.

Gameplay[]

Using the fishing mechanics of Trails in the Sky SC, Estelle and the opponent take turns to fish, with the highest score being declared the winner after five, 10 or 15 rounds. On Estelle's turn, she is prompted to choose a rod and bait (some rods are compatible with some baits). When the exclamation mark (!) appears, a button must quickly be pressed to catch the fish. Different fish are worth different amounts of points, making it more worthwhile to seek out the more valuable fish. These more valuable fish are more likely to escape however.
