Messeldam

Messeldam (港湾都市メッセルダム) is a medium-sized port city in northern Calvard, facing the North Sea.

Background[]

In the past, Messeldam used to be an important hub in the North Sea trade logistics. Historically Messeldam's fishing industry provided the royal capital of Oración with marine products, but with the advent of orbal airships its relevance diminished. It remains an important gateway to regions like Remiferia.

Influence of Eastern cultures on Messeldam have been minimal. Much of its cityscape reflects Calvard's history as a monarchy.

Messeldam hosted the annual Orbal Film Festival until the event was moved to Tharbad in S.1208 following terrorist threats.

Messeldam is infamous for being the home city of mafia group Almata, who use the name 'Messeldam Trading' as a dummy company facade for their activities.

Van Arkride, Quatre Salision, and Judith Lanster meet up in Messeldam in order to locate the final Genesis while running into Judith's grandmother, Dominique Lanster.
