This page explains the mechanics of status effects (状態変化) in Trails through Daybreak.

Overview[]

A status effect is any alteration that applies to units in combat, characterized by an icon above the unit on the field, and an icon above their stats display in the user interface. Only one application of a particular status effect can be active on a unit.

Various effects can be applied through the use of arts, crafts, equipped quartz that modify the user's attacks, or by enemy skills. Status effects are classified depending on how they affect the unit: stat modifiers are effects that directly increase or reduce the unit's stats (STR, DEF, ATS, ADF, SPD, MOV, DMG, ADMG, RES, ARES and Crit), while abnormal status are other types of effects that can be beneficial or detrimental. Detrimental abnormal statuses are also referred as ailments.

Levels[]

Certain status effects can be applied several times, increasing their effects for each level, with the duration of the effect being that of the latest modifier applied. This means if a level 1 effect is applied on top of an existing level 2 effect, it would result in a level 3 effect.

Duration[]

The duration of a status effect is determined by the type of effect and method of application. Most effects have a duration expressed in turns, but some effects are permanent until removed or the end of battle, or last only for a certain amount of attacks. Note that the turn to prepare an art will not count towards status effects' duration and the effect itself. The stun effect will only last until any player character takes a turn, including the turn to prepare an art.

Status Vulnerability[]

Each enemy has a different set of vulnerabilities for each status effect (and stat reductions and AT Delay). The chance of inflicting a certain status effect is multiplied by the enemy's vulnerability to that status effect to obtain the final chance of inflicting it. The chance can go higher than 100%, making it more likely than usual to inflict that status effect. Player characters can resist status effects by equipping various pieces of equipment or through shard skills, granting different chances of resisting particular effects.

Increases damage taken by 50%. Until a player turn passes.

Loses turn. Until attacked by party member.
Stealth (Kuro Status) Stealth

Character cannot be targeted or damaged by enemy attacks, and their attacks have +50% chance to crit. Wears off.
Insight (Kuro Status) Insight

Increases ACC% and EVA% by 50%. Wears off.
Shield (Kuro Status) Shield

Acts as temporary HP and prevents status effects from attacks while it lasts. Lasts until temporary HP is depleted.
Guard (Kuro Status) Guard
完全防御
Immunity to all attacks. Each hit blocked by this status reduces the duration by 1.
Temper (Kuro Status) Temper
Increases damage dealt by 25% for each turn, until +100% at turn 4. Wears off.
Vigor (Kuro Status) Vigor
Increases damage dealt the higher the character's HP, up to +100% at 100% HP. Wears off.
Strait (Kuro Status) Strait
Increases damage dealt the lower the character's HP, up to +100% at 1% HP. Wears off.
S-Boost (Kuro Status) S-Boost
Activates the Holo Core's bonuses and increases Shard Skill activation chance. Level 2 further increases activation chance, increases SCLM range by 50% and enables the use of S-Crafts. Wears off.

Increases chance of enemies attacking the character by 50%. Wears off.
