The Whereabouts of Light (星の在り処) is the ending theme of Trails in the Sky FC.
Background[]
According to Olivier Lenheim, the song was said to be beloved by Erebonian country folk.
"The Whereabouts of Light" is a favorite song of Joshua Bright, who learned to play the song on his harmonica at an early age. His adoptive sister Estelle Bright first hears him play it at Perzel Farm to calm the Perzel children. He again plays the song at Valleria Lake. When Joshua leaves Estelle to track down Ouroboros, he leaves behind his harmonica. Estelle then begins practicing, eventually becoming good enough to play the song.
Rean Schwarzer aids Claire Rieveldt and Michael Irving in unlocking an old music box. Upon opening, the box plays a version of "The Whereabouts of Light."
Appearances[]
A number of instrumental versions of "The Whereabouts of Light" appear within the Trails in the Sky games. These include "The Whereabouts of Light (Short and Full Harmonica Versions)," "Feelings Soar With the Wind" (one version for FC and one for SC) and "Hoshi no Arika (Instrumental Version)," played when Joshua and Estelle reunite in SC. "The Wind from Liberl" is a lighthearted version of theme that plays when Joshua and Estelle meet the Special Support Section in Trails from Zero. It later appears during scenes involving Sieg and Klaudia von Auslese in Trails to Azure.
