Toval Randonneur (トヴァル・ランドナー), also known as Zero Artisan Toval (零駆動トヴァル), is a B-rank bracer[Note 2] [Note 3] affiliated with the branches in Erebonia.
Profile[]
Introduction[]
A bracer who belongs to the Imperial branch of the Bracer Guild, an organization with branches across the continent that undertakes problem solving and investigations. In the Empire, where bracer activities are quite restricted, he continues to work steadily with his former colleague Sara and others, trying to somehow rebuild the Guild. Although he is quite strong physically, he is known for his talent for tinkering with tactical orbments, and for his overwhelming speed in unleashing Arts. In the previous game, he met Rean and the others during their field study, but in this game, they meet again in an unexpected situation, and helps Rean on his journey during his lowest point yet...[6]
Appearance[]
Toval is man with short blonde hair and blue eyes. He wears a long forest green shirt with a vest in a lighter shade underneath, black trousers, sneakers and a long white coat with a blue line along the edges. He carries an orbal stun baton with him but primarily relies on his orbal arts.
Personality[]
Toval is a very flexible and casual sort of person. He acts kind to others, however, he does have a serious side. He is also very mysterious because of his habit of creating various false identities and can be an effective liar. He was very lonely when he was little due to not having anyone that cared for him.
He is highly sociable, allowing him to speak freely to pretty much everyone, and built up a broad network of personal connections thanks to his work for the guild both within and outside Erebonia. During the Erebonian Civil War, he fought all over the empire alongside fellow bracer Sara Valestein.
He modifies his combat orbment for faster casting speeds, which earned him the alias of Zero Artisan (literally, "Zero Drive").

Notes
- ↑ Toval's age as of Trails of Cold Steel IV is listed as 28 in the Sen no Kiseki Character Maniacs [2] and as 30 in Sen no Kiseki IV Official Visual Collection.[3]
- ↑ In the English version of Trails of Cold Steel III, it is mentioned Toval is an A-rank bracer.[4] This, however, is an incorrect translation of a line that argues he is competent enough to rival an A-rank bracer. Toval himself is a B-rank bracer.[5]
- ↑ He was offered promotion to A-rank, though he rejected it, stating he feels more comfortable at B-rank.
