United Front (ヴァリアント・レイジ) is a combat mechanic introduced in Trails into Reverie. Only those who were connected at the end of the Great Twilight can access it though as long as at least one person in a linked party can use it everyone else can too. E.g., when Renne joins C's party C and the others are able to use them too despite not fitting the requirements to use it themselves. Its creation was based on the Divine Knights link phenomenon during the Great Twilight.
Gameplay[]
United Front is an attack or recovery technique introduced in and present only in Trails into Reverie. It is a continuation of the Combat link system introduced in the Trails of Cold Steel. It can be activated when there are 5 or more party members, and up to 10 party members can participate. The Assault Gauge can be consumed to activate either "United Front Attack", "United Front Arts" or "United Front Heal".
In United Front, the amount of damage dealt or health recovered is proportionally more effective as more party members participate, including those in reserve. The percentage of damage dealt or health recovered also increases with the number of participants. The maximum number of participants is 10.
Rush is a ranged attack by two battle members, Burst is a general attack by four battle members, and Brave Orders have various effects on the entire battlefield. When BP is running low, United Front can be activated.
